今日は死ぬのに最良の日だ
1974年にアメリカで出版された「MANY WINTER」（作者：ナンシー・ウッド）という本に、タオス・ブエブロインディアンの口承詩として紹介されています。愛する人の死に際して心の支えになってくれる、作者が不明の「千の風」も同じ口承詩なのでしょうね。Today is a very good day to die.
Every living thing is in harmony with me.
Every voice sings chorus within me.
All beauty has come to rest in my eyes.
All bad thoughts have departed from me.

My land is peaceful around me.
My fields have been turned for the last time.
My house is filled with laughter.
